DRUMROLL PLEASE!

You GUYS! I am so excited to share with you the the Donuts + Down Dog 5 Day Journal is here! She’s out in the world and ready to make shit happen!

I release a similar version of this journal in 2018 after a little over a year into my mindfulness deep-dive. Since that first iteration I’ve learned so much more about accessible mindfulness practices, have spent countless hours studying different techniques and philosophies, and (arguably most importantly!) have collected all of your thoughts, ideas, feedback, and requests over the last almost 2 years to create an updated version of this journal that I know you will LOVE.

Here’s what the journal includes:

  • 5 Days of prompts designed specifically to teach you how to start practicing mindfulness in your life immediately to relieve stress, improve focus, lessen anxiety, and improve your mental health. After you’ve finished the 5 days these are prompts that you can come back to time and time again. I’ve even had some readers break the prompts into one per day so that they guide lasts them an entire month!

  • A book list of informative reads on mindfulness, philosophy, minimalism, and intentional living. These are all books that I have read (many of them a few times) that inspired my own adventures into training my brain.

  • A list of supplies to make your journaling process fun, so that you look forward to coming back every day. Spoiler: there is a Lisa Frank appearance.

Oh, and the best part?

This baby is free.99.

I don’t say this lightly - journaling has completely changed my life. I’ve always been attracted to the idea of meditation but, in my own experience, it can be incredibly difficult to get into as a beginner. When you aren’t used to being mindful, even the act of sitting still for three minutes can be completely overwhelming. Journaling for me was the perfect introduction to mindfulness. I found that, by having a task, I was able to be more present (I mean, you can’t text and write at the same time), commit to my mindfulness practice for longer than I would have if I were listening to recordings, and I can look back on my progress in my old journals and see how far that I’ve come. It’s a beautiful evolution to be able to witness on paper.

Look - this year is crazy. 2020 is HARD and messy and confusing. Nothing makes sense. Having tiny rituals throughout the day that ground us is so important - even something like committing daily to taking a walk can be life-giving. While I am not under any false pretenses that journaling is going to make everything better, I do firmly believe that it can make things a bit more bearable and easy to understand. I’ve been at this for 4 years and I can say with confidence that a regular mindfulness practice has made me more energized, less anxious, more focused, more motivated, and way less stressed about life.

I hope that you love this journal as much as I loved making it!
