Wellness Radar: Week of June 28, 2021

How are you doing in this HEAT?! We surpassed 100 degrees in Seattle today, which just feels totally bananas. It's like living in a hot yoga studio. But you can't leave. And everybody you know is there.

Wait, is this a nightmare?

With the heat in mind, I wanted to share some wellness tips about how to take the best care of YOU when it's hot out. Tips include: stay up on your hydration, allow yourself rest in your workout schedule, and turn every meal into a popsicle.

Hope you are staying cool out there!

WEEKLY WELLNESS RADAR: WEEK OF JUNE 28, 2021

☀ Committed to your fitness, even in this heat? Check out this blog post for everything that you should know about working out in the heat. Spoiler: it's not as simple as you think.

☀ One way to beat the heat? Exercise during off hours when it's cooler out. I'm teaching a special 7 AM virtual yoga class on Friday if you want to join! Sign up here.

☀ A girl on TikTok was drinking celery juice, so now I drink celery juice. There is a LOT of bogus nutrition information on the interwebs. I recently discovered Abbey Sharp, a hilarious YouTube dietitian and love her lighthearted approach to understanding nutrition. Check out her videos (and run, don't walk, from social media dieting advice).

☀ Speaking of nutrition… struggling to nourish yourself in this heat? Try popsicles. Not the Otter variety (although lovely), but making popsicles out of your favorite smoothies. Cold, ready whenever, and suppppper tasty. These popsicle molds are my favorite.
