#TakeALittlePeak: Explore Hood Canal
Remember when blogging used to be just random life updates? #TheDailyMoments by Steph Pollock has totally inspired me to go back to old school blogging routes and sprinkle in life updates, just like you would find sprinkles on a good donut. For the Donuts + Down Dog version, I give you #TakeALittlePeek - periodic looks into our lives. I hate to admit that we aren't the most exciting, but if you're into Netflix, dogs, fitness, books, and naps: welcome.
Just because I made my career centers around social media doesn't mean that I don't want to escape into the woods with my husband (Steve was there too, he just hates having his picture taken) for a few days and not speak. We barely even spoke to each other the whole time... I was nose-deep in Calypso and then The Female Persuasion, and Dan was out in a kayak catching both waves and crab. Hood Canal is one of our favorite corners of the universe. Its tucked away on the Olympic Peninsula and just enough of a drive to make it feel detached from all humanity. Which, if I'm being honest, sometimes I need. There's no shame in not wanting to talk to people for a little (or long) while. I hope that you embrace that from time to time, too. When I came back from our quick escape I felt full of life and READY for some damn conversation. I didn't open my laptop the entire time that we were there. Score.
