Morning Matcha

Despite being PNW grown and an elite-level coffee chugger, lately the appeal of coffee has been waning. Have I, dare I say it, hit my coffee peak? In a quest to find my latest morning wake up (and perhaps be a little bit healthier in the process) I discovered the joys of matcha. Whoa. I may never go back.

This all stemmed from a genuine effort to cut back on my caffeine intake. I realized that I was drinking about a million cups (slight exaggeration) of coffee a day without feeling much peppier. I would love to say that I'm the kind of person who can cut caffeine and never look back but, LOL, that would be terrible for everyone I interact with. I love being caffeinated. I love being awake and alert and getting shit done. I love the ritual of a morning beverage while I plan out my day.

While I seriously doubted my ability to enjoy anything as much as I enjoy coffee, I am in love with Matcha. I love the earthiness of Matcha. I love how green it is. I love how it smells. I love that I only need one cup in the morning and then I feel energized all day.

Morning Matcha

  • Hot water- enough to fill a coffee cup.
  • 1 scoop matcha. You can find single serving packets here, here, and here.
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1 dash coconut sugar
  • Blend all ingredients on high for 10-15 seconds. Pour into your favorite cute mug. Enjoy. Take on the world.

PS- if you buy anything from the links above I may be compensated. It's what helps me keep this website runnin'.
